RESUMEN Objetivo: Explorar la experiencia y percepción de las personas migrantes internacionales en Chile en torno al acceso a servicios de salud durante la pandemia. Método: Estudio de caso colectivo bajo el paradigma cualitativo. Se llevaron a cabo 40 entrevistas semi-estructuradas con 30 personas migrantes provenientes de diferentes países de América Latina y el Caribe y 10 actores clave del sector salud o social en noviembre y diciembre 2020. Se analizaron las entrevistas temáticamente. Resultados: Los facilitadores percibidos para el acceso general a servicios de salud se relacionan con el trabajo formal, las redes de apoyo y el buen trato, mientras que las barreras se vinculan con situación migratoria, brechas de información, discriminación, falta de competencias interculturales y límites propios del sistema. En contexto de acceso a diagnóstico y tratamiento de COVID-19, se identifican principalmente barreras: abordaje cultural de la enfermedad, brechas comunicacionales, experiencias de discriminación, costos y faltas de redes de apoyo. Conclusión: El acceso a servicios de salud se vincula con vulnerabilidad social y vulneración de derechos de las personas migrantes internacionales.

ABSTRACT Objective: To explore the experience and perception of international migrants in Chile regarding access to health services during the pandemic. Method: Collective case study following the qualitative paradigm. Forty semi-structured interviews were carried out with 30 migrants from different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and 10 key actors from the health or social sector in November and December 2020. The interviews were analyzed thematically. Results: Perceived facilitators for general access to health services are related to formal work, support networks, and good treatment, while barriers are linked to immigration status, information gaps, discrimination, lack of cross-cultural skills, and personal limits of the system. In the context of access to COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment, the main barriers identified are: cultural approach to the disease, communication gaps, experiences of discrimination, costs, and lack of support networks. Conclusion: Access to health services is related to social vulnerability and violation of international migrants rights.

RESUMO Objetivo: Explorar a experiência e a percepção dos migrantes internacionais no Chile sobre o acesso aos serviços de saúde durante a pandemia. Método: Estudo de caso coletivo sob o paradigma qualitativo. Foram realizadas 40 entrevistas semiestruturadas com 30 migrantes de diferentes países da América Latina e Caribe e 10 atores-chave do setor de saúde ou social em novembro e dezembro de 2020. Resultados: Os facilitadores percebidos para o acesso geral aos serviços de saúde estão relacionados ao trabalho formal, redes de apoio e bom tratamento, enquanto as barreiras estão ligadas ao status de imigração, lacunas de informação, discriminação, falta de habilidades interculturais e limites próprios do sistema. No contexto do acesso ao diagnóstico e tratamento da COVID-19, identificam-se principalmente barreiras: abordagem cultural da doença, lacunas de comunicação, vivências de discriminação, custos e falta de redes de apoio. Conclusão: O acesso aos serviços de saúde está vinculado à vulnerabilidade social e à violação dos direitos dos migrantes internacionais.

ABSTRACT Fungal polysaccharides possess an important bioactive potential, including antioxidant and anticarcinogenic activity. The aim of this work was to determine the antioxidant activity and cytotoxicity against tumour and non-tumour cell lines acidic polysaccharides (NAAPs) of the fungus Nothophellinus andinopatagonicus . The effect of NAAPs on tumour cells lines was evaluated by MTT assay and flow cytometry. The analyses determined that glucose was the most abundant monomer and IR spectrum showed the typical peaks of β-glucans in the NAAPs. The cell viability assays revealed significant activity of NAAPs against HL-60, HCT-116 and MCF-7 tumour cell lines (IC50 = 767,16 μg mL-1, 1256 μg mL-1 and 4241,7 μg mL-1, respectively); but a much lower cytotoxicity against the non-tumour cell line HGF-1 (outside the range of the highest concentration tested (>10 mg mL-1)). NAAPs affected the cell cycle of HL-60 tumour cells, increasing the percentage of cells in the sub G1 phase and reducing it in the S/G2/M phases. Moreover, low concentrations of NAAPs also showed an effective cytotoxic activity against tumour cell lines while the non-tumour cell line was unaffected, maintaining a viability close to 100%. The antioxidant activity of the highest NAAPs concentration tested was 6.24% and 4.63%, for DPPH and ABTS method, respectively.

ABSTRACT This article’s objective is to describe the strengths of the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM), the advances of its substantive functions, and the specificities of its academic model. Based on an analysis of its achievements, the authors suggest the bases for configuring a social communications model. Students, would-be students, and the public in general have limited knowledge of the institution, and therefore, some aspiring students have it as a fall-back option. The article also underlines the social outreach programs that have positioned it as one of the country’s best universities and concludes with a series of specific recommendations for implementing communications strategies targeting students, companies, civil society, and the government.

RESUMEN El objetivo de este trabajo es describir las fortalezas de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), los avances en sus funciones sustantivas y las particularidades de su modelo académico. A partir del análisis de sus logros, se sugieren las bases para configurar un modelo de comunicación social. El conocimiento que se tiene de la institución es limitado entre los aspirantes, los estudiantes y la sociedad en general, y por ello muchos de los primeros la tienen como una segunda opción. Esta propuesta también destaca los programas de atención social que la han posicionado como una de las mejores universidades en el país, y se concluye con un conjunto de recomendaciones específicas para implementar estrategias de comunicación dirigidas a los alumnos, las empresas, la sociedad civil y el gobierno.

Abstract Objective: to determine the differences between care ability and caregiver burden in caregivers of patients on peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis who were treated at a healthcare center in Cúcuta-Colombia. Methods: Comparative descriptive study. 25 caregivers of people on peritoneal dialysis and 43 of people on hemodialysis were included. The Chronic Care Caregiver Skill Instrument and the Zarit Burden Interview were applied. Results: A significant difference was found in two of the three dimensions of care ability. Regarding Caregiver burden, higher levels were presented in the dimensions of impact and competencies-expectations in the peritoneal dialysis group. Conclusions: The caregivers of patients on peritoneal dialysis require greater support and preparation that allow them to strengthen their care skills in instrumental and knowledge aspects. Caregivers of patients on hemodialysis require greater preparation for their interpersonal relationship with the recipient of care.

Resumen Objetivo: determinar las diferencias entre la habilidad de cuidado y la sobrecarga en cuidadores de pacientes en diálisis peritoneal y hemodiálisis atendidos en un centro sanitario de Cúcuta-Colombia. Metodología: Estudio descriptivo comparativo. Se incluyeron 25 cuidadores de personas en diálisis peritoneal y 43 de personas en hemodiálisis. Se aplicó el Instrumento habilidad de cuidado de cuidadores de personas con enfermedad crónica y la Entrevista de sobrecarga Zarit. Resultados principales: Se encontró una diferencia significativa en dos de las tres dimensiones de la habilidad de cuidado. Frente a la sobrecarga se presentaron niveles más altos en las dimensiones impacto y competencias-expectativas en el grupo de diálisis peritoneal. Conclusión: Los cuidadores de pacientes en diálisis peritoneal precisan un mayor apoyo y preparación que permiten fortalecer su habilidad de cuidado en aspectos instrumentales y de conocimientos. Los cuidadores de pacientes en hemodiálisis requieren de mayor preparación para su relación interpersonal con el receptor de cuidados.

ABSTRACT In the microwave-radiofrequency spectrum, Wi-Fi is a short-range wireless broadband technology, which transmits at a frequency of 2.5 GHz. This type of technology has been positioned itself as one of the most widely used technological advances in recent years. It has been reported that direct exposition to radiofrequencies can induce physiological changes in different animals and plants species. One of the degenerative effects that Wi-Fi can cause is the production of reactive oxygen species, inducing tissue damage and DNA alterations. In fungi, the effect of exposure to electromagnetic radiation in the UV spectrum has been extensively studied, the physiological effect to radiofrequencies such as Wi-Fi is unknown. In that sense, the aim of this study was to detect the main changes in metabolism of some acid fatty and ergosterol of the fungus Serpula himantioides, using gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC–MS), and evaluate the antioxidant activity of metabolites obtained from in vitro cultures of S. himantioides exposed to Wi-Fi at 2.5 GHz. The results showed an increment in the content of some the fatty acids and ergosterol, in total extracts from the fungus mycelium. Antioxidant analysis revealed that the total extracts of S. himantioides culture medium showed antioxidant capacity associated with an increment in the content of phenolic compounds. Our results suggest that direct exposition to Wi-Fi radiation produces oxidative damage by modifying cellular components in the fungus S. himantioides.

Resumen La actual pandemia, fue iniciada por la aparición de brotes de neumonía atípica en los alrededores de la ciudad de Wuhan, provincia de Hubei en China, ocasionadas por un coronavirus, el SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19. La enfermedad de este virus es una entidad desconocida, que actualmente genera una serie de incógnitas y misterios a su alrededor, una de ellas es su origen, lo que ha ocasionado que no haya aun información concreta sobre su patogenia y sobre todo su mecanismo de transmisión en ciertos grupos de edad, como lo son los niños. Objetivo. Describir la Incidencia, mecanismo de transmisión y consecuencias a nivel nutricio y psicológico del SARS-CoV2/COVID-19 en niños. Metodología. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de información acerca de la trasmisión y mecanismo patógeno de SARS-CoV-2 en niños de 7 y 14 años, en buscadores como Crossref, PubMed, y revistas indexadas en SciELO, empleando palabras clave como: niños, SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19, transmisión, incidencia. Dado que las consecuencias son muy diversas en la salud de los niños, se hace más hincapié en aspectos como el impacto negativo a nivel nutricional y psicológico. Resultados. Los casos de SARS-CoV-2 y/o COVID-19 solo han llegado a alcanzar el 2.02% de los casos confirmados en México, en su mayoría sintomáticos, sin necesidad de hospitalización. Quizá se pueda deber a que en los niños se presenta una expresión menor de receptores de ACE2, respuesta innata inmunológica, mayor presencia de IGM, escasas comorbilidades, nutricionalmente el impacto mayor es en niños con obesidad y a nivel psicológico muy probablemente por el confinamiento y el impacto de no poder contar con educación escolar. Conclusión. Por ahora sin repercusión clínica grave en los niños, pero sí en la interacción social, no juegan, carecen de desarrollo a nivel nutricional que los hace más vulnerables y psicológico, con consecuencias negativas en su salud. El no saber como afrontar las condiciones que ahora viven pueden traer consecuencias en trastornos psiquiátricos-psicológicos no positivos.

Abstract The current pandemic was started by the appearance of outbreaks of atypical pneumonia in the surroundings of the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China, caused by a coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, The disease of this virus is an unknown entity, which currently generates a series of unknowns and mysteries around it, one of them is its origin, which has caused that there is still no concrete information about its pathogenesis and especially its transmission mechanism in certain age groups, such as children. Aim. Describe the incidence, transmission mechanism, and nutritional and psychological consequences of SARS-CoV2 / COVID-19 in children. Methodology. A systematic review of information about the transmission and pathogenic mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 in children aged 7 and 14 years was carried out, in search engines such as Crosref, PubMed, and journals indexed in SciELO, using keywords such as: children, SARS- CoV-2, COVID-19, transmission, incidence. Given that the consequences are very diverse in the health of children, more emphasis is placed on aspects such as the negative impact on a nutritional and psychological level. Results. Cases of SARS-CoV-2 and / or COVID-19 have only reached 2.02% of confirmed cases in Mexico, mostly symptomatic, without the need for hospitalization. It may be due to the fact that children have a lower expression of ACE2 receptors, an inatural immune response, a greater presence of IGM, few comorbidities, nutritionally the greatest impact is in children with obesity and on a psychological level, most likely due to confinement and impact of not being able to have a school education. Conclusion. For now, without serious clinical repercussion in children, but in social interaction, they do not play, they lack development at a nutritional level that makes them more vulnerable and psychological, with negative consequences on their health. Not knowing how to deal with the conditions that are now living can have consequences in non-positive psychiatric-psychological disorders.

This research is derived from the participation of pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental disorders. Objective: to evaluate anxiety in pediatric patients suffering from neurodevelopmental disorders. Material and Methods: The methodological design is non-experimental, descriptive and transversal. The sample consisted of 150 pediatric patients from a rehabilitation center in the state of Hidalgo, México, with a diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorder with an age range of 4-17 years. A Spence Anxiety Scale (38 items) was applied, which was divided into 6 subscales. The application comprised a period of 30 days. Results: Of the 150 participants, correspondence with the female gender 49 and the male 101 children. From this, it was identified that 48% of the participants presented generalized anxiety. Conclusion: The results of the Spence test identify that participating women have a high level with 55 points, for men a high level with 45 points and on average it is identified that they have a high level of anxiety in general with 48 points.

Resumen El desarrollo infantil debe ser monitoreado regularmente, para la detección temprana de señales de alarma que indiquen alteraciones en su evolución normal. Esta investigación se deriva de la participación de pacientes pediátricos con trastornos del neurodesarrollo. Objetivo. Evaluar la ansiedad en pacientes pediátricos que padecen trastornos del neurodesarrollo. Material y Métodos. El diseño metodológico es no experimental, descriptiva, y transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 150 pacientes pediátricos de un centro de rehabilitación del estado de Hidalgo, México, con un diagnóstico de trastorno del neurodesarrollo con un rango de edad de 4-17 años. Se aplicó una Escala de Ansiedad de Spence (38 ítems) que se dividía en 6 subescalas. La aplicación comprendió un periodo de 30 días. Resultados. De los 150 participantes, correspondencia con el género femenino 49 y el masculino 101 niños. A partir de esto, se identificó que un 48% de los participantes presentan ansiedad generalizada. Conclusión. Resumen La infección por Covid-19, se ha convertido en una emergencia en salud pública, a casi un año de su aparición ha dejado millones de muertos, el binomio materno-fetal es vulnerable ante este riesgo y la atención a este grupo, es un servicio esencial que requiere de apego a medidas de prevención, y desigualdad económica; el acceso y la capacidad de los servicios de salud son trascendentes en esta pandemia. Objetivo. Describir las complicaciones y sintomatología principal relacionadas con infección por Covid-19 en mujeres embarazadas y neonatos a nivel mundial y número de casos reportados en México. Metodología. Se realizó una revisión sistemática en Cochrane, MEDLINE, PubMed, NCBI, Scielo y Google Scholar. páginas de la OMS, Secretaria de Salud de México, (FEMECOG), 3 libros acerca de Coronavirus, 2020, información para la determinación de la morbimortalidad materno fetal y sintomatología por infección COVID-19 de diciembre, 2019 a julio, 2020; en cuanto a la epidemiología mexicana se revisaron fuentes actualizadas de octubre de 2020. Resultados. Las mujeres embarazadas con infección por Covid-19 tienen alto riesgo de experimentar complicaciones obstétricas y neonatales: aborto espontáneo, parto pretérmino, restricción del crecimiento intrauterino, ingreso a unidad de cuidados intensivos, necesidad de ventilación mecánica y neumonia. En la infección por Covid-19 las características clínicas más comunes fueron fiebre, tos y fatiga. Hasta el 18 de octubre del 2020 se han registrado un total de 6,761 embarazadas y/o puérperas y 1387 recién nacidos positivos confirmados a Covid-19 en México. Conclusión. La comorbilidad en embarazadas es determinante en la evolución, comportamiento y complicaciones de la infección por Covid-19 y las medidas de prevención ineficientes, de continuar así, los resultados serán indudablemente negativos.

Abstract The Covid-19 infection has become a public health emergency, almost a year after its appearance it has left millions of deaths, the maternal-fetal pairing is vulnerable to this risk and care for this group is a service essential that requires adherence to prevention measures, and economic inequality; the access and capacity of health services are transcendent in this pandemic. Objective. Describe the complications and main symptoms related to Covid-19 infection in pregnant women and neonates worldwide and the number of cases reported in Mexico. Methodology. A systematic review was performed in Cochrane, MEDLINE, PubMed, NCBI, Scielo, and Google Scholar. pages of the WHO, Secretary of Health of Mexico, (FEMECOG), 3 books about Coronavirus, 2020, information for the determination of fetal maternal morbidity and mortality and symptoms due to COVID-19 infection from December 19, 2019 to July, 2020 Regarding Mexican epidemiology, updated sources from October 2020 were reviewed. Results. Pregnant women with Covid-19 infection are at high risk of experiencing obstetric and neonatal complications: miscarriage, preterm delivery, intrauterine growth restriction, admission to the intensive care unit, need for mechanical ventilation and pneumonia. In Covid-19 infection, the most common clinical characteristics were fever, cough, and fatigue. Until October 18, 2020, a total of 6,761 pregnant and / or postpartum women and 1,387 positive newborns confirmed to Covid-19 have been registered in Mexico. Conclusion. Comorbidity in pregnant women is a determining factor in the evolution, behavior and complications of Covid-19 infection and inefficient prevention measures, if this continues, the results will undoubtedly be negative.

ABSTRACT Araucaria araucana is a native conifer of Chile commonly called Araucaria. The knots of Araucaria are extremely hard wood and highly rot-resistant, they can be found in the forest decades after that the tree has dead and decomposed. Here we report the phytochemical characterization of different parts of the Araucaria as stemwood, branch and knots, founding a remarkable difference in the content of extractables in these parts, as well as the lignan composition, which is higher in knots than in branches or stemwood. Eudesmin was isolated and crystallized from organic extract of knots, its structure was determinate by NMR; moreover, secoisolariciresinol, lariciresinol and matairesinol were identified by GCMS and HPLC in contrast to standards, and quantified in stemwood, branch and knots. The results showed that secoisolariciresinol is the main lignan with 45.77 mg g−1, followed by eudesmin with 22.68 mg g−1, lariciresinol 4.57 mg g−1 and matairesinol with 1.19 mg g−1. The antioxidant activity in terms of DPPH assay showed that knotwood extract displays the higher activity, meanwhile that eudesmin did not displays activity in DPPH assay. The cytotoxic activity against SHSY5Y neuroblastoma and P3X myeloma cell lines, revelated a moderate activity of extracts, while eudesmin did not showed activity.

Resumen El objetivo del presente estudio fue comparar la transportación apical en dientes extraídos utilizando tres sistemas rotatorios de níquel-titanio (Mtwo, Hyflex CM y Typhoon). Sesenta primeros molares extraídos se dividieron aleatoriamente en tres grupos (n=20 en cada grupo) con curvaturas del conducto radicular similares (25-52 grados). Todos los conductos radiculares se prepararon usando una técnica corono apical para cada sistema rotatorio. La pérdida de la longitud de trabajo y la transportación apical se determinaron mediante evaluación radiográfica. Las comparaciones entre los grupos se realizaron utilizando análisis de varianza de una vía (ANOVA) o Kruskal-Wallis, y los análisis post hoc empleados fueron las pruebas de comparación múltiple de Dunn o Tukey. No se detectaron diferencias significativas entre los diferentes sistemas rotatorios en la pérdida de la longitud de trabajo y transportación apical. Este estudio demostró que el uso de estos tres sistemas es seguro y útil para su instrumentación en conductos curvos; sin embargo, investigación in vivo es necesaria para comparar la efectividad y seguridad de estos sistemas para su uso en conductos curvos.

Abstract The aim of this study was to compare the apical transportation in extracted teeth using three different rotary nickel-titanium systems (Mtwo, Hyflex CM, and Typhoon). Sixty extracted first molars were randomly divided into three groups (n=20 in each group) with similar root canal curvatures (25-52 degrees). All root canals were prepared to size 30 using a crown-down preparation technique for each rotary system. Loss of working length and apical transportation were determined by X-ray evaluation. Comparisons between the groups were performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) or Kruskal-Wallis tests, and the post hoc analyses employed were Dunn´s or Tukey´s multiple comparison tests. No significant differences were detected between the different rotary systems in the loss of working length and apical transportation. This in vitro study showed that the use of these three rotary systems are safe and useful for instrumentation in curved canals; however, further in vivo research is essential to compare the effectiveness and safety of these systems for use in curved canals.

Resumen Introducción: debido a la emergencia del coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 desde diciembre del 2019, se ha generado un gran volumen de producción científica, en algún caso incierta o controvertida especialmente en el manejo farmacológico de los pacientes con esta infección; por lo tanto, se considera relevante buscar alternativas metodológicas para realizar su síntesis rigurosa, sistemática y de calidad, pero con menor tiempo de ejecución y menor costo. Objetivo: presentar la evidencia disponible respecto al manejo farmacológico de personas con sospecha o diagnóstico de infección respiratoria por SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) utilizando el método de revisiones sistemáticas rápidas (RS-R) en medicamentos poten- cialmente eficaces para su manejo. Metodología: se realizó una búsqueda sistemática y estructurada en Medline, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library, Clinical trials y Google Scholar en inglés. Los estudios incluidos fueron guías de práctica clínica, consensos, revisiones sistemáticas, metaanálisis, ensayos clínicos y otros estudios primarios. La búsqueda y extracción de datos se realizó por múltiples revisores, pero ninguna fue pareada. Resultados: dieciseis preguntas de interés clínico fueron resueltas, relacionadas con el uso en COVID-19 de lopinavir/ ritonavir, nelfinavir, oseltamivir, remdesivir, ribavirina, teicoplanina, umifenovir, favipiravir, tocilizumab, ivermectina y plasma convaleciente; también se evaluó el uso de medicamentos de soporte e incluidos en el manejo como la dexametasona, así como el uso concomitante de medicamentos que generaron dudas como son los AINES, los IECA y los ARA II. Conclusiones: los resúmenes de evidencia se muestran dentro del escenario de la pandemia como una buena alternativa metodológica para ofrecer información de calidad a corto plazo para los tomadores de decisiones.

Abstract Introduction: Due to the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus since December 2019, a large volume of scientific production has been generated, in some cases uncertain or controversial, especially in the pharmacological management of patients with this infection; therefore, it is considered a relevant search for methodological alternatives to carry out its rigorous, systematic and quality synthesis, but with less execution time and lower cost. Objective: To present the available evidence regarding the pharmacological management of people with suspected or diagnosed respiratory SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) using the method of rapid systematic reviews (RS-R) in potentially effective drugs for their management. Methodology: A systematic and structured search was conducted in Medline, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library, Clinical trials and Google Scholar in English. Studies included clinical practice guidelines, consensus, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical trials, and other primary studies. Data search and extraction were performed by multiple reviewers, but none were paired. Results: Sixteen questions of clinical interest were resolved, related to the use in COVID-19 of lopinavir/ritonavir, nelfinavir, oseltamivir, remdesivir, ribavirin, teicoplanin, umifenovir, favipiravir, tocilizumab, ivermectin, convalescent plasma; the use of support management drugs such as dexamethasone were also evaluated, as well as the concomitant use of drugs that generated doubts, such as NSAIDs, ACEis, and ARA IIs. Conclusions: Summaries of evidence are within the pandemic scenario as a good methodological alternative to offer quality information in the short term for decision-makers.

ABSTRACT The Cyttaria genus belongs to the Cyttariaceae family, with 11 species described worldwide. In Chile and Argentina, seven of them are found. They are known as “Digüeñes”, from the Mapudungun “diweñ”, and are parasitic fungi of Nothofagus trees. They are naturally distributed in the southern hemisphere and are of great importance from a nutritional point of view. Despite extensive knowledge about the taxonomy, ecology, and chemical-nutritional composition of some Cyttaria species, their nutraceutical potential has recently gained interest. In this investigation, the chemical-proximal composition and cytotoxic activity of the C. berteroi and C. hariotii polysaccharides were determined. To identify the nutritional composition of the Cyttaria species, the AOAC methodology was used and the cytotoxic potential of their polysaccharides was evaluated by means of the MTT test (3- (4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -2,5 bromide-diphenyltetrazolium) against the cell lines of human colon cancer (HCT-116), human leukemia (U-937) and breast cancer (MCF-7). The results showed that C. berteroi had a high protein and lipid content compared to C. hariotii. Also, C. hariotii polysaccharides had a greater cytotoxic effect against the colon cancer cell line (IC50= 3700 µg/mL), leukemia (IC50= 2100 µg/mL) and breast cancer (IC50= 9470 µg/mL). Therefore, it is concluded that C. berteroi metabolites and cytotoxic activity in C. hariotii polysaccharide tumor lines could represent an opportunity to obtain a potential nutraceutical product.

RESUMEN El género Cyttaria pertenece a la familia Cyttariaceae, existen 11 especies descritas a nivel mundial. En Chile y Argentina podemos encontrar sólo siete de ellas, conocidas como “Digüeñes” del Mapudungun “diweñ”, hongos parásitos obligados de árboles de Nothofagus. Este género, se distribuye naturalmente en el hemisferio sur y tiene gran importancia desde el punto de vista alimenticio. A pesar del extenso conocimiento sobre la taxonomía, ecología y composición químico-nutricional de algunas especies de Cyttaria, su potencial nutracéutico ha recobrado interés recientemente. En esta investigación, se determinó la composición químicaproximal y actividad citotóxica de los polisacáridos de C. berteroi y C. hariotii. Para caracterizar la composición nutricional de las especies de Cyttaria, se utilizó la metodología de AOAC y se avaluó el potencial citotóxico de sus polisacáridos mediante el ensayo MTT (bromuro de 3- (4,5-dimetiltiazol-2-il) -2,5-difeniltetrazolio) frente a las líneas celulares de cáncer de colon humano (HCT-116), leucemia humana (U-937) y cáncer de mama (MCF-7). Los resultados evidenciaron que C. berteroi presentó un alto contenido de proteínas y lípidos en comparación con C. hariotii. Además, los polisacáridos de C. hariotii tienen un mayor efecto citotóxico frente a la línea celular de leucemia (IC50= 2100 µg/mL), cáncer de colon (IC50= 3700 µg/mL) y cáncer de mama (IC50=9470 µg/mL). En consecuencia, se concluye que los metabolitos de C. berteroi y la actividad citotóxica en líneas tumorales de los polisacáridos de C. hariotii podrían representar una oportunidad para la obtención de un potencial producto nutracéutico.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Several factors are identified in the raw sugar mill that increase energy consumption and introduce technical, economic and environmental risks Objective: To evaluate the energy system through the application of energy management systems. Materials and Methods: The energy review included the application of traditional methodologies for the thermo-energetic balance and the use of Sistema Termo Azúcar 4.1 software according to the Cuban Standard ISO 50001. Results and Discussion: An energy baseline is established, which allows the industry in a comparative way assess energy performance of the process. Conclusions: The use of STA 4.1 software in the studied industry constituted a useful, practical and reliable tool for analyzing the energy system. High level of technology obsolescence and poor condition of thermal insulation constitute the main technology deficiencies of industry. The economic benefits obtained with the modification of generation and cogeneration system and thermal insulation rehabilitation justify the proposal of three investment projects that contribute to increase the efficiency in energy use, whose recover investment is estimated in 3 years.

RESUMEN Introducción: En la fábrica de producción de azúcar crudo se identifican varios factores que incrementan los consumos energéticos e introducen riesgos técnicos, económicos y ambientales. Objetivo: Evaluar el sistema energético, mediante la aplicación de sistemas de gestión de la energía Materiales y Métodos: La revisión energética incluyó la aplicación de las metodologías tradicionales para el balance termoenergético y el uso del software Sistema Termo Azúcar 4.1 según la norma cubana ISO 50001. Resultados y Discusión: Se define una línea de base energética que permite a la industria evaluar de forma comparativa el desempeño energético del proceso. Conclusiones: El uso del software STA 4.1 en la industria estudiada constituyó una herramienta útil, práctica y confiable para el análisis del sistema temoenergético. El elevado nivel de obsolescencia tecnológica y el mal estado del aislamiento térmico constituyen las principales deficiencias tecnológicas de la industria. Los beneficios económicos que se obtienen con la modificación del sistema de generación y cogeneración y la rehabilitación del aislamiento térmico, justifican la propuesta de tres proyectos de inversión que contribuyen a elevar la eficiencia en el uso de la energía, cuya inversión se estima recuperar en 3 años.
